:::::: 02.04.04: Contest Cancelled ::::::

I wanted to apologize to everyone who had either taken part in or been upset by our recent efforts to find the best possible home for Rocket. As too often happens with the best intentions, the plans got tripped up by technicalities.

We thought we had made every precaution and secured every necessary clearance and authorization, but it's better not to take chances and just give Rocket up to an appropriate and certified rescue organization.

I hope everyone understands that we honestly wanted nothing more than the best possible home for Rocket and that we did everything humanly possible to do that. Thanks to everyone who contributed essays.

- Beck

Beck has teamed up with the Pasadena Humane Society, who will put Rocket, Beck's co-star in the Sea Change DVD-A's "Lonesome Tears" video, up for adoption at one of their shelters. As it happens, Beck, Rocket and the Pasadena Humane Society will be teaming up to find Rocket his new owners just as the ASPCA's Adopt-A-Rescued-Rabbit-Month begins February 1, 2004.

Beck commented, "We're happy to be participating in Adopt a Rescued Rabbit month with the Pasadena Humane Society. We're confident they'll find Rocket the home he deserves and will do so with the most qualified and caring help possible."

Ricky Whitman of the Pasadena Humane Society added, "Thanks to Beck's concern, Rocket will find a great home. The Pasadena Humane Society is very happy to partner with Beck and bring more awareness to Adopt a Rescued Rabbit month. Most shelters have lots of rabbits that would make wonderful pets and need new homes."

We'll be putting up a new contest soon, so be sure to sign up for email updates so you get the announcement.
